DEX Attends Coverings 2013!

Coverings 2013 was here for the first time last week in our hometown of Atlanta, Georgia! For those who are unfamiliar with Coverings, it is an international trade fair dedicated to showcasing the newest tile and natural stone products.

DEX attended Coverings all week, so you may have bumped into Craig, Lauriel, or Erin while working at our booth which was located in the New Artisans section.

DEX noticed three interesting trends while attending the trade show.

Trend #1: Manufacturers showcased more large format tiles and with a minimal thickness (approx. ¼ inch). 5′ x 5’ tiles were displayed in some booths, and one company stated they were working on 5′x12′! The big question: How the heck do you install those?

Trend #2: Another key trend was more and more textured and 3 dimensional wall tiles. DEX displayed our DIMMENSIONS 3D wall tiles and we received several comments about there being nothing else like our 3D tiles out there like them!

Trend #3: Finally, we also heard comments that there seemed to be very few of the true artisan handmade tiles such as Dimensions in the show. We were pretty happy we were there!

More than 20,000 industry professionals attended Coverings for its educational workshops, to witness the latest technologies and trends, and take advantage of the chance to network with vendors and suppliers from across the globe in one convenient location.

We had a lot of fun at Coverings and met some awesome vendors. Our booth stayed busy and we had a great time networking with others in our industry.
